A leak and your everyday data need different things. A leak needs speed. Everyday data needs to be accurate.
When a leak is detected, speed comes first. The device on your water meter reads the meter, turns the reading into data on the spot and sends it to you right away, so you can act as soon as the leak starts.
The rest of the time, accuracy comes first. Your readings go to our servers. There we check them against the meter images and sort them into values for each minute and each hour. This can take up to 3 hours. It's also why the HUB stays fast and reliable when you look back over days, months or years.
In short: you get live data when it matters, and checked data for everything else.
