If you’re new to the Smartvatten API, don’t worry — getting started is simple.
Getting started with the Smartvatten API is simple. Follow the steps below to begin accessing and integrating your Smartvatten data.
1. Request an API key
An API key is required to access the Smartvatten API.
If you do not have an API key, please contact integrations@smartvatten.com.
2. Identify your devices
To retrieve data, you will also need the Device ID(s) of the meters you want to access. You can find Device IDs in the Smartvatten HUB, Partner UI, or via the /meters endpoint.
3. Explore the API documentation
The Smartvatten API documentation provides an overview of all available endpoints and allows you to test requests directly in your browser.

Select an endpoint, enter the required parameters, and use the Try it out feature to test the API response.
4. Start making API requests
You can access the API from your preferred development environment using tools such as Postman, curl, or your own application.
Include your API key in the Authorization header when sending requests.
