Smartvatten optical devices capture water meter readings with millimeter-level precision.
Because of this, even a small movement — bumping the device, cleaning around it, or rotating it slightly — can cause the camera or sensor to misalign.
When the device is moved, even if placed “back where it was,” these conditions may no longer be perfectly aligned. As a result, the device may:
read incorrect values
stop reading entirely
show sudden spikes or drops in consumption
send incomplete or inconsistent data to the API
