Since the beginning of 2022, your monthly report includes a benchmark score on top of your page, which is called the "Smartvatten Water Efficiency Index".

This score is meant for users to easily identify assets and properties that are performing well (or poorly) in relative terms of their water usage. The index can range between 0-100, where the higher the score, the more efficient a location is compared to other.

So how is the Water Efficiency Index calculated?

Since we want to keep it simple for everyone, we use the complex data from properties monitored by Smartvatten, and break it down into one informative number. To do this, we divide locations into different categories, so we only compare hotels with hotels, offices with offices, and so forth.

Next, we look at the size of a location, and divide properties into similar categories. We then take the usage and include some of the key elements collected by our AI software, to calculate a score. This way, your score is always up-to-date and dynamic, based on how other buildings that are most similar are performing in terms of their water usage.

Further down in the report, you get a short overview of your score, with some more context:

The index should be used as a tool, to narrow down locations that might need attention when it comes to their water usage. Here at Smartvatten, we are commited to help you save water, so please do get in touch with our Customer Success Team, when you see low Water Efficiency Index, and we can advise you further!
