The issue may be due to a weak connection. If you're near the installed device and have mobile reception, the device should function properly. However, if there's no reception—common in locations like underground parking garages—that could be the cause.
Another possibility is that the device was stored for some time before installation and may require an update. To trigger it, unplug the device from the outlet and plug it back in. Allow a few minutes for the update to complete.
